Google's Android takes lead in U.S. consumer smartphones

Android accounted for one-third of all smartphones purchased in the April-June period, with Research in Motion's BlackBerry sliding to second place for the first time since 2007.

BlackBerry lost nine percentage points of market share, falling to 28 percent. On
Tuesday, RIM unveiled a new touchscreen device as the company tries to
reinvigorate its image with consumers. Apple Inc's iPhone was in third
place with a 22 percent share.

Android is available on smartphones from a number of different manufacturers. NPD said Motorola's Droid was the best-selling Android handset in the second quarter among US consumers, followed by HTC's Droid Incredible and EVO 4G.

Google said recently that 160,000 Android phones were activated each day during the second quarter, up from
65,000 in the first quarter. Smartphone unit prices averaged $ 143 in
the April-June quarter, down 9 percent from a year ago.

Expand Your Farm to 26×26 Grand Plantation in FarmVille

After much teasing and rumors, Zynga has finally released the next land expansion in FarmVille, bringing the current maximum size to 26 squares by 26 squares

Before you panic, though, know that the expansion (entitled Grand Plantation) is being rolled out to all users slowly, as most major releases in the game are, to help avoid any problems that might arise otherwise (that is, if all 63 million players were given access at once).

At this time, Farm Expansions can be obtained through two methods. Players can:

   Purchase the expansion with Farm Cash
2. 
   
   Unlock the expansion through the neighbor requirements and then purchase the land with coins
   
   
   
   
   Even if you don’t have access to the expansion as of yet, here’s what you can expect when you do:

You’ll need either 80 Farm Cash to purchase the expansion outright, or will have to meet a series of requirements to purchase it for coins. First, you must add five new neighbors to your total neighbor count, bringing you to at least 35 in total. Once you meet those two stipulations, you will have access to purchase the land expansion for a whopping 2  million coins.

The addition of the new neighbor stipulation should give you more time to save up the necessary funds, should you lack a 2 million+ coin total currently. How to Trap Your Farmville Farmer for Faster Harvesting

If you have a large farm you're probably a bit frustrated with how long it's daily maintaining takes. It can take you as long as an hour to plow through the whole farm and if you're in a hurry, you won't have time to do anything else. So, you have probably looked into buying a tractor or other machines to help you. That's not necessary though, because there's a technique called 'trapping' or 'boxing'. Here's how to do it.

There are a few different ways to trap your farmer. If you are just starting out and you don't have a lot of coins, the cheapest way is to use hay bales. You need two hay bales from the market for this method. When you click on a corner of the farm, the farmer will move there. Once he is in the corner, click on a hay bale and then click move. Set the hay bale down next to the farmer, nice and close. Move the second hay bale so that it is touching the first and the farmer is closed in. That's all there is to it. go plant and harvest and the farmer can't move. you will need to move a hay bale and click in the corner each time you sign in to trap the farmer for that session.

If you have more coins and hay, you can trap the farmer in the square that he reports to at the beginning of each session. When you first sign in, the farmer shows up in the same square in the middle of the farm. If you have a crop planted there, delete it with the delete tool. Then move the farmer out of the square by clicking somewhere else. Next, move hay bales all around the edge of the square, leaving one bale out of a side. Click in the middle of the hay bale square to move the farmer back in. Move the last hay bale into place, and the farmer is trapped. The farmer will remain there in future sessions unless you move one of the hay bales to let him out.

My favorite method is to trap the farmer in the corral with the animals. I go in there to collect from them first anyway, so the farmer is usually right there. I left out one section of fence and I use 3 bales of hay in its place. I move one bale to let the farmer in and out.
